We provide a high quality, tailored ply finishing service to suit your needs. You can supply your own plywood, or we can source the plywood for you.
Our most common option is our 6mm birch core plywood, which is a great blend between quality, aesthetics and price. The pictures display 6mm birch with a polyurethane finish, and a 6mm negative detail.
Generally our ply is installed on a 10mm tri-board substrate, which can also replace plasterboard as a bracing element. When installed like this, we have found that with our 6mm birch ply, including installation costs the price is actually comparable in cost to finished plasterboard.

Finishing Options

We use intergrain ultra-clear, which is our most common finish, hard wearing whilst still smooth to the touch. Key points are: washable, durable, non yellowing and it retains the natural colour of the timber.
It is also water-based, which means it is more ecofriendly when compared to other oil based alternatives, and emits less VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) which makes it safer to use, and gentler on the environment.

We can mix any paint to create an appealing colour wash for any ply. Most commonly we do a white, grey or black wash. The whitewash is great for maintaining the natural colour of plywood that tend to yellow in the sun, such as radiata pine.
